Studies on Morpho-physiological Fingerprints of Rice Cultivars in Rice Crop in Rice-Rice-Rice, Maize-Maize-Rice and Vegetable-Vegetable-Rice Cropping Systems

Background: Continuous rice cultivation has a negative effect on sustainable production. Crop rotation can increase the yield and soil quality. This study aimed to provide information morpho-physiological fingerprints of cultivars in different crop systems. Methods: Twelve were evaluated terms their three systems, i.e., rice-rice-rice, maize-maize-rice (M-M-R) vegetable-vegetable-rice, at Agrotechnology Innovation Center, Universitas Gadjah Mada Berbah District, Sleman Regency, Special Province Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from December 2020 June 2021. Result: The results revealed an interaction between system, with effects observed nitrogen, phosphorus potassium contents leaf tissue (NC, PC KC, respectively), growth rate, total dry weight per clump, empty grain clump (EG) (GWC). NC, KC positively affected GWC. GM 8 cultivar M-M-R system showed lowest EG 3% highest GWC 133.90 g clump-1.
